- ➤ On Wednesday, following spring training, Pirates volunteered at the Miracle League Fantasy Camp at Manasota Field in Longwood Run Park (Sarasota) where they hosted baseball challenges for children and adults with special needs, paving the way for the spring season starting Feb. 28. - ➤ The Bradenton Area River Regatta returns Friday evening and Saturday with supercharged Formula 1 powerboat races & a drone light show featuring fireworks along the Manatee River and live musical acts at Rossi Park, while hallmarks include a 5K run/walk and stunt dog shows with planned local road closures. - ➤ Wildlife officials released rehabilitated manatees back into the wild along nearby waterways on Feb. 19; experts said the animals (tagged for tracking) will be monitored to ensure a safe reintegration into their natural habitat. ABC7

- ➤ Manatee County Emergency Management hosts coffee chat sessions on hurricane preparedness today from 9-11 a.m. to help residents check evacuation levels, review supplies, and update plans amid upcoming severe weather. ABC7
- ➤ Sen. Jim Boyd filed an amendment on Wednesday to a coastal resiliency bill that bans dredging in the Terra Ceia Aquatic Preserve, an area eyed for a new cruise terminal. The measure from his district, covering Manatee & Hillsborough counties, will be reviewed in Tallahassee. FOX 13 Tampa Bay
