  • Manatee County launched 'Beach Like a Local', a program offering U.S. Coast Guard-approved life vests at two stands on Anna Maria Island—one near Sandbar Seafood and Spirits and one at Bayfront Park—to boost beach safety as part of the Love It Like a Local initiative.  ABC7

CULTURE NEWS

  • Gent Treadly (Greg Koerner) performs as bassist in a trio at Cottonmouth, a local venue known for its southern soul cuisine, arts, and live music. He toured with Vince Welnick and Charles Neville and released five original albums that are streaming on major platforms.  The Bradenton Times
  • Nauti Girl Band (a four-piece 90’s alternative and pop/dance rock band) will perform at Encore Live, a venue known for live music and upscale dining, as they deliver upbeat covers of hits from the 80s to today for Gen Xers in Bradenton.  The Bradenton Times
  • Dead Set Florida brings the Grateful Dead tunes to Encore Live on Sunday evening for a laid-back night with classic jams — extended improvisation. Attendees will enjoy great drinks at a venue offering top-notch live production and an immersive LED light show.  The Bradenton Times

  • New federal law changes under the One Big Beautiful Bill Act will boost refunds with an increased standard deduction and higher Child Tax Credit.
