  • Manatee County Beach Patrol is preparing for a spring break surge after March saw a 25% rise in beach visitors and teams are set to handle potential emergencies; Sarasota County is also adding extra staff to boost beach safety.  ABC7
  • Legislators passed a bill on Tuesday, Mar. 10 to protect Terr Ceia Preserve, a cherished green space in the community. The measure is expected to enforce conservation for local wildlife and natural areas.  ABC7
  • The Florida House passed SB 302, a coastal resiliency bill designed to protect the Terra Ceia Aquatic Preserve & block plans for a mega cruise terminal on the Knott-Cowen tract in Manatee. The bill now heads to Governor DeSantis and would take effect July 1.  The Bradenton Times
