  • The city is upgrading LECOM Park with the new City Park that will add ball fields, parking and a community center for fans and local businesses. The project will be done in phases and some parts will be ready in as little as two years.  ABC Action News
  • Manatee County honors Coach Eddie Shannon, a revered veteran & Hall of Fame mentor at Lincoln Memorial High School during segregation. The tribute celebrates his lasting impact on local youth, marked by his Olympic torch run and a key to the city.  ABC Action News

CULTURE NEWS

  • 90 Surge will perform 90s grunge and alt-rock tunes at Motorworks Brewing in Bradenton soon. The concert will feature hits from Nirvana, Pearl Jam, and more — hosted at an award-winning local brewery with national medals for its craft beers.  The Bradenton Times
  • Concrete Edgar, a Bradenton band inspired by the late great Patti Brainard, is set to perform at The Cortez Kitchen (a waterfront venue in Cortez) soon.  The Bradenton Times
  • Mirage (Oasis Tribute Band) is set to perform at Oscura in Old Manatee as part of the venue's relaunch. The tribute show, inspired by Oasis' record-setting reunion tour sellout, offers locals live hits, creative events, and award-winning food and beverage experiences.  The Bradenton Times
  • Renowned blues musician James Armstrong, whose tracks have appeared in major films, will headline an evening of live music at Cottonmouth, a Bradenton venue known for southern soul cuisine and local art on its patio.
