Good morning, Bradenton.

Palmetto police chief Scott Tyler confirmed a body recovered last week in Pinellas County waters is that of 69-year-old Russell Trudeau—a missing grandfather and Air Force veteran last seen leaving his Palmetto dock on March 30th—as his vessel was reported adrift in Tampa Bay.

A new bill led by a Pinellas County state senator now heads to the Florida House—aiming to improve hurricane recovery plans in local governments.

It outlines new training, debris cleanup, and a change to FEMA’s lookback rule—meant to help residents rebuild after last year’s hurricanes.
