- ➤ Nicholas Lee Shermer was convicted of Second Degree Murder after being arrested for fatally shooting his then-girlfriend Amanda Shoaf on her 27th birthday at the Carlton Arms apartment on August 27, 2023 — he shot her four times, admitted the crime, and awaits a sentencing date.
