- ➤ Manatee deputies are searching for missing teen Caroline Williamson, age 19, who was last seen on Wednesday at 8:00 p.m. in the 14200 block of Gnatcatcher Terrace in Lakewood Ranch + she is 4 feet, 10 inches tall, weighs 95 pounds and has medical conditions that need attention. ABC7
- ➤ Caroline Williamson, a 19 year old last seen on Wednesday at 8 p.m. in the 14200 block of Gnatcatcher Terrace in Lakewood Ranch, was found safe—she is with the Manatee County Sheriff’s Office. ABC7
ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ Anna Maria Island Turtle Watch and Shorebird Monitoring reported that an area in Bradenton Beach has been set aside as a gathering ground for endangered Black Skimmers after they were spotted last week. The birds are protected under the U.S. Migratory Bird Treaty Act (people must stay at least 300 feet away to avoid disturbing their nesting) and local officials urge the public to follow the guidelines. - ➤ Sea turtle nesting season began today when officials located three nests and placed markers on Longboat Key, Siesta Key, and Casey Key — steps taken to protect the nests and guide hatchlings using natural light. They advise residents to fill dug-up holes and reduce artificial light as hatchlings are expected around August. WFLA
