ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • Friends of the Pelicans Inc. will transform the former county animal services campus in Palmetto into a rehabilitation center for injured seabirds rescued near the Skyway Fishing Pier, pending rezoning and permits.   • Conservation teams began saving seabirds on May 4 by cleaning beaches and protecting nests along the Suncoast. They will add protective measures in the coming weeks to improve local habitats.  ABC7
