John Skeen to the Elks Lodge in Lakewood Ranch where he received the Knight of the Legion of Honor—France's highest medal—for his role in freeing France. - ➤ The owner of a Tampa pool company was given a 20-year prison sentence for taking more than $1.5 million in deposits and not finishing pools for customers in Hillsborough, Manatee, Pasco, and Polk counties. ABC7

- ➤ At Thursday’s Manatee County Commission meeting, commissioners voted unanimously to postpone a final decision on reversing wetland protections after state agencies strongly opposed the change—responding to concerns over a post-Hurricane Ian statute.
