- ➤ Manatee County has extended its burn ban due to dry weather and high temperatures—only allowing outdoor cooking, authorized agricultural burns, and permitted public fireworks displays while other open burning remains prohibited until rain arrives. ABC7
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ While most of the Tampa Bay area slept, Bradenton’s Manatee County Emergency Communications Center handled about 23,000 calls each month as telecommunicators guided callers through emergencies and transferred law enforcement calls. - ➤ Dozens gathered outside the Manatee County courthouse Thursday morning for the annual Law Enforcement Memorial Service where officials and family members honored ten fallen officers as flowers were placed on their memorials — Sheriff Wells announced plans for a life-size statue of trooper Jeff Young to pay tribute to one of the heroes.
