- ➤ A former shark researcher on SharkFest pleaded no contest to stealing nearly $453K from the American Elasmobranch Society, with her fraud aimed at funding personal purchases—she was sentenced to three years in prison with 27 years of probation and has already paid $20K. WFLA
- ➤ Bradenton police said a burglar caught on camera on May 13 broke into a locked vehicle on the 700 block of 10th Avenue E and stole items including a firearm — authorities ask anyone who recognizes the suspect to contact Detective Tobie. ABC7
