- ➤ Julian Jaramillo, 21, was booked after authorities say he kidnapped his ex-girlfriend on May 27 by using a tracking device to follow her from her Ruskin home to his Palmetto residence — officials report he stole her car keys, forced her into her vehicle, and she sustained minor injuries during the incident. - ➤ A Palmetto man was arrested after allegedly placing a tracking device in his ex-girlfriend's car, forcing her into the trunk, & holding her at his home before he was booked and set for extradition to Hillsborough County as the investigation continues. FOX 13 Tampa Bay

- ➤ Manatee County commissioners unanimously voted to purchase more than 13 acres to expand Pine Island Preserve to nearly 100 acres—using $40,000 from conservation tax funds to protect wildlife habitats near the mouth of the Braden River.
