  • The Gulf Islands Ferry will resume Wednesday service and run five days per week starting June 18, connecting downtown Bradenton's Riverwalk Pier with the Historic Bridge Street Pier on Anna Maria Island — the service will help ease traffic and reduce car emissions for summer visitors.  Manatee County

ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • A nine-year-old Bradenton girl was injured in a shark attack on June 12—local officials are looking into her condition.  ABC7
  • A 57-year-old Sarasota man died after his Nissan Versa left the road on U.S. 41 near SeaPort Manatee Wednesday night at about 8:25 p.m.—the car hit a stop sign, struck a concrete wall and overturned, and the crash is under investigation.  ABC7

  • A Bradenton man is accused of robbing a Sarasota 7-Eleven at gunpoint early on June 10th + deputies arrested Denzel Alejandro Hernandez Cuevas during a traffic stop on June 12th.  FOX 13 Tampa Bay

CULTURE NEWS

  • Communities across Tampa Bay plan Juneteenth events to honor the end of slavery, with celebrations scheduled from today through June 28. Various counties will host festivals, flag-raising ceremonies and art shows—bringing neighbors together to reflect on freedom and heritage.  Bay News 9

  • The Manatee County Sheriff’s Office launched a website that lets residents file police reports for incidents in unincorporated areas—if an event happened in city limits, local agencies must be contacted—and all online reports will be reviewed for follow-up.  ABC7
