- ➤ The Florida Highway Patrol said an upside-down Jeep blocked three lanes on University Parkway near the I-75 overpass, injuring at least one person and backing up traffic nearly two miles with delays of 12 to 15 minutes. ABC7

- ➤ Bradenton Police asked the public for help in finding a man who stole a customer's electric bike on June 16 from Family Dollar on Manatee Avenue—video shows he rode up on his bicycle then left on the stolen bike—and the suspect remains at large. ABC7
ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ Manatee County has set new rules at Anna Maria Island beach that ban digging holes deeper than one foot, disallow the use of steel shovels, and require holes to be filled to protect sea turtles. Longtime beach resident Mark Taylor said signs will be posted to inform visitors and that nearby towns like Holmes Beach and Bradenton Beach will adopt similar measures (after some holes dug during spring break proved dangerously large). - ➤ Governor Ron DeSantis signed a law that eases restrictions on Gulf Coast beach access by allowing walking, fishing, sunbathing and swimming on areas once controlled by lengthy local processes—this change also streamlines efforts to restore eroded beaches in smaller counties.
