- ➤ On Saturday at 9:30 a.m., a 19-year-old was struck and killed by a pickup truck on US 301 near Parrish in Manatee County — Florida Highway Patrol said neither the victim nor the driver has been identified and the crash is under investigation. WFLA

- ➤ A dispute turned deadly on Jul. 6 in Bradenton - officers are now investigating a fatal shooting that occurred during the conflict. ABC7

- ➤ Sara Nelms, an Americana singer-songwriter from Sarasota, will perform at Craftails Speakeasy in Bradenton to showcase her blend of classical training and southern country influences—she has performed across the area before. The Bradenton Times
