- ➤ Local fishing captains and guides who lost income during Hurricanes Helene and Milton can apply for a grant—offering up to $1,000 in support—to help cover recovery costs after last year's storms. - ➤ FWC is investigating reports that a group tampered with a sea turtle nest on Bradenton Beach on July 9 plus witnesses said adults and children used plastic shovels and flashlights to disturb the nest, which led to some hatchlings becoming disoriented and fatally stranded on the roadway. WFLA
