  • Manatee County Sheriff Rick Wells held a media briefing—yesterday at 11 a.m.—at the District 3 Office in Bradenton to share recent findings in the death investigation of 18-year-old Giovanni Pellitier with attending officials and family members.  ABC7

CULTURE NEWS

  • The Shakes Society is a multi-instrumental band that blends soul, funk, ska and rock and will perform a free live show at The Bradenton Yacht Club—where the crowd joins in the dancing and interactive experience. Local music fans in Bradenton are invited to enjoy the unique performance with a lively atmosphere.  The Bradenton Times

EDUCATION NEWS

  • The Bradenton Fire Department advises parents to review NHTSA safety tips as students return to school—teaching bike helmet use, safe pedestrian practices, and proper teen driver habits. GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The Manatee County Commission approved $1 million in opioid settlement funds today to support six agencies with programs focused on prevention – response, recovery and evaluation for fiscal year 2025–2026. County staff will oversee performance during the contract period, and a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the Under One Roof facility is scheduled on October 1.  The Bradenton Times
