- ➤ Lily Michele Malave-Adams died peacefully on August 11 in Bradenton, surrounded by her family. A visitation is held on Saturday, August 23 at 2 p.m. and a funeral at 3 p.m. at Brown & Sons Funeral Homes & Crematory—she will be laid to rest in Villalba, Puerto Rico. The Bradenton Times

- ➤ The Manatee County Commission canceled today’s meeting to vote on a 50-foot wetlands buffer because Chair George Kruse said state rules under Senate Bill 250 stop them from adopting stricter local rules—which could risk their jobs. ABC7
