- ➤ The Divebombers—George Worthmore on electric guitar, Nat Langston on acoustic guitar and Chad Clifford on acoustic bass—play toe tappin' American music influenced by legends like George Jones and Johnny Cash at Mattison’s Riverwalk Grille in Bradenton. - ➤ Founded in Tampa in 2023, Persephone's Choice is an all-female rock n’ roll band that released its debut single 'Hold Me Down' in November and then followed with 'Waterfall' and 'Demons' while landing supporting slots with noted artists and planning new shows and music. GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ After the commission cancelled hearings on two county plan changes, a Tallahassee law firm sent a letter on August 21 demanding that the proposals be withdrawn by September 4 or face a lawsuit—warning that the move may not follow state law under SB 180. The Bradenton Times
SPORTS NEWS
- ➤ Bradenton tennis players Hina Inoue and Martin Damm Jr.—two locals—won US Open qualifying matches on August 23 to earn spots in the main draw at Flushing Meadows. They will play their first rounds soon. The Bradenton Times
