Here's your local news at a glance for Thursday, the 11th of September.
Good morning, Bradenton.
🌲 Environment
Local officials and environmentalists began a six‐week study to find the source of enterococci bacteria at Palma Sola Causeway—testing water weekly with and without horse tours from Sept.
8 through Oct. 6 to see if horses, birds, humans, or degrading plants are causing the issue. Officials also plan to examine if improving water flow under the causeway can reduce the contamination.
🏈 Sports
Students at Elite Legacy Martial Arts in Palmetto will represent Team USA at the World Martial Arts Games in Norway in November as they raise funds for the trip—four competitors also plan to compete in a Clearwater tournament on September 19—20.
The team shows strong discipline on the mat and has earned pride from their coaches and families.
