- ➤ On September 12, the EPA proposed to remove 46 source categories from its Greenhouse Gas Reporting Program, exempting 179 industrial facilities in Florida—including four in Manatee County—from reporting emissions. ManaSota 88 opposes the rollback and urged public comments during the 47-day period after the proposal was published. The Bradenton Times

- ➤ The League of Women Voters watched the school board meeting on September 16th where Chair Choate started the meeting at 5:32 p.m. and the board approved nineteen items including job description changes, a tax note, and travel expenses. The board also honored Athletic Trainer Sydney Cooper—who saved a coach’s life—and celebrated 187 students who earned perfect test scores. The Bradenton Times
- ➤ Sheriff Rick Wells said open carry became legal statewide after the Florida First District Court of Appeal ruled the state law unconstitutional on September 15th—he noted that restrictions remain in sensitive areas like courthouses, schools, and bars in Manatee County. The Bradenton Times

- ➤ At Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital, Baby Snoh, born extremely premature at 23 weeks on Christmas Eve and weighing one pound, graduated from the NICU on Wednesday after nine months of care — now weighing over 13 pounds.
