  • On Saturday, about 250 volunteers gathered on Egmont Key to clean up debris left by Hurricane Helene—Elizabeth Miller from Bradenton said she found parts of an anchor near Fort Dade. Organized by local groups, the cleanup helped protect wildlife and restore the island’s natural beauty.  FOX 13 Tampa Bay

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The Manatee County Inspector General released reports that found a convention bureau employee misused his authority by holding an unscheduled family photo shoot at a county facility without paying the fee—another report found that although METV’s nonprofit status was temporarily revoked, county payments were made under valid agreements and a new contract is recommended.  The Bradenton Times
  • Commissioners are debating the future of the Manatee County Central Library site by asking whether to keep, rebuild, or move it— a choice that will impact our town's history. The site has deep ties to early settlers and its future will shape Bradenton's heritage.  The Bradenton Times
