- ➤ Dr. Laurie Breslin became the new superintendent for Manatee County Schools and said she is honored to lead the district where she once worked and studied—she now focuses on safety and boosting student achievement. ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ Oyster River Ecology is restoring a 10-acre area of the Manatee River east of I-75 using handcrafted Oyster Rag Pots — these tools let oysters grow and help form a living reef. Volunteers can join on Saturday, October 11th at Ft. Hamer Park as groups assemble up to 500 pots to boost water quality and support local seafood jobs. FOX 13 Tampa Bay
