COMMUNITY NEWS

  • Parrish residents have long called for safe, complete sidewalks on Old Tampa Road between U.S. 301 and Fort Hamer Road as children walk near busy traffic, with records showing past requests went unfulfilled (new projects will need county board approval).  Bay News 9

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Terrace Community Middle School has raised nearly $700,000 of the $1.7 million needed for a new gym — the school has used off-campus facilities since its 2021 move to the Patel High School campus. The school continues its Team Tornado drive and spring gala fundraising — asking for community support to complete the project.  Bay News 9

SPORTS NEWS

  • The Bradentucky Bombers will face New Jax City Rollers on Saturday, October 25 at Ellenton Ice and Sports Complex with doors opening at 4:30 p.m. and the bout starting at 5:00 p.m.—tickets cost $10 in advance or $15 at the door, with free admission for children five and under; the team will also host an open scrimmage on November 1 for league members and local skaters, featuring a Ghosts vs. Reapers theme.  The Bradenton Times
