- ➤ 87 local veterans flew from Sarasota-Bradenton International Airport to Washington, D.C. to visit memorial sites and honor their service—Southwest Florida Honor Flight provided the free trip that included the most female veterans ever on an honor flight. Bay News 9

- ➤ Bradenton officials said small toys, mop heads, gloves and rags were flushed down toilets and caused blockages and system breaks—leading to costly repairs and possible wastewater spills.
