  • Manatee County's 34th Annual Farm City Week Agricultural Tour will take place on November 14 from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.—attendees will tour historic farms, nurseries, and fishery operations including West Coast Tomato and A.P. Bell Fish Co., with tickets costing $75 per person and reservations required by November 1.  The Bradenton Times
  • Bradenton’s new fire station opens today at 2233 Manatee Ave E (5:30-7:30 p.m.) for a community open house where residents can tour the station and meet the firefighters. Fun activities include touch-a-truck, candy, giveaways, and costumes encouraged for kids 12 and under.  The Bradenton Times

CRIME NEWS

  • A Bradenton couple was charged with aggravated animal cruelty after an anonymous tip led officers to a home on the 1800 block of 10th Avenue West where five large-breed dogs were found malnourished and confined, and after executing a search warrant on October 14 animal services rescued the dogs—police said they were recovering and gaining weight on Monday.  ABC Action News

CULTURE NEWS

  • Lil' Ed and the Blues Imperials are marking 20 years with a live performance at Cottonmouth in Bradenton. The band will deliver Chicago blues—featuring energetic electric slide guitar solos—and energize the crowd as tickets cost $25 AVD and $30 DOS.  The Bradenton Times
  • The Pops Orchestra will bring back the popular Sundays@Neel concert series at SCF Neel Performing Arts Center with shows on November 16, February 1, and March 29, each at 3:00 p.m. Tickets will cost $35 while special packages will be offered—featuring the Stiletto Brass, Vince DiMartino’s jazz sextet, and Tom Becker’s tribute to John Denver— and locals are encouraged to book early.  The Bradenton Times
  • The Florida Maritime Museum on Cortez Nature Preserve is being rebuilt after last year’s hurricanes with design work at 30% completion. Officials said full construction plans will be finished by summer and work is scheduled to end by late fall — 2027.  ABC7

  • Steve Junot has played over 5000 gigs in 20 years and tailors his performances to match what the audience wants—by taking song requests that mix different styles for a fun night.   • Yesterday, local conservation groups reported that Anna Maria Island’s sea turtle season ended with a record number of green turtle nests—showing that efforts to protect the turtles are working.  ABC7

HEALTH NEWS

  • Foodynamics is voluntarily recalling several brands of pet food for cats and dogs due to a salmonella risk — affected items were shipped to retailers in Wisconsin, New York, and Florida. Consumers are advised to return the products for a refund while the FDA warns that pets and humans could experience symptoms like diarrhea, fever, and vomiting.  FOX 13 Tampa Bay
