COMMUNITY NEWS

  • The Pars 4 Paws Golf Tournament raised $57,000 for animal rescue efforts, organizers said. The funds will support local animal shelters—helping pets in the Bradenton area.  ABC7

CULTURE NEWS

  • Award-winning musician Kaleb Woods, a former pop punk front man with roots in reggae, 90s and 2000s hits and a touch of country, is set to perform at Inner Compass Brewing Company in Bradenton. The venue offers a full-service restaurant with lunch and dinner and a kid menu (with crayons) and serves 30 taps of on-site and Florida-brewed beers.  The Bradenton Times
  • Jay Nash will perform with opener Matthew Frost at Fogartyville on Nov. 16 at 7 p.m. with doors opening at 6 p.m.—tickets cost $20 for members, $25 for non-members, and $12 for students.  The Bradenton Times
  • Santiago Sounds will perform at Fiorelli Winery & Vineyard in East Bradenton. The event has no cover at a venue that has served guests like family since 1998.  The Bradenton Times
  • JP Soars and his band, the Red Hots, will perform blues at Cottonmouth in Bradenton— a venue offering southern soul cuisine and local art. The trio, which includes seasoned drummer Chris Peet and bassist Cleveland Frederick, brings years of touring and international experience to the stage.  The Bradenton Times
  • Local drummer Chance Reynolds leads the Chaunces Trio at Oscura Performing Arts Center every Thursday — doors open at 7 p.m. and music starts at 7:30 p.m.  The Bradenton Times
  • André Roy, originally from Montreal, has played to rave reviews across Tampa Bay since 2012 using his rare '68 Gretsch 7-string guitar and powerful vocals. He will perform at Flamingo Bay Brewing Co.—a family-friendly brewery with a spacious taproom and beer garden.  The Bradenton Times
  • On Nov. 28, acoustic folk singer Jack Williams will perform at Building Bridges Coffeehouse at 322 15th St. W in downtown Bradenton + doors open at 6:30 p.m. with open seating and refreshments available.  The Bradenton Times

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • The Florida Aquarium in Apollo Beach is treating injured sea turtles brought in by cold weather and now offers free visits over the next few months—its biologists work to care for the animals before they are released back to the wild. The center also provides free admission for veterans until Veterans Day.  Bay News 9
