- ➤ Manatee County is hosting national police K–9 field trials today at Tom Bennett Park from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.—with a community demonstration at Lakewood Ranch High School from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m.—where over 70 teams will be judged on obedience, search work and apprehension skills. Rouson, a Pinellas County lawmaker, is drafting a bill to repeal a rule that lets charter schools share public school space for free because it forces districts to pay for food, cleaning, and transport.
