- ➤ Kroger announced it will pull out of Florida and end its grocery delivery services next year. The company will close four fulfillment centers on Feb 1 and lay off more than 1,400 workers in Tampa, Rockledge, Jacksonville and Groveland. WFLA

- ➤ The Bradenton Area Convention Center completed a $54 million project that added 30,000 square feet including a grand ballroom and meeting rooms—its first event, the Florida Sports Foundation Hall of Fame ceremony, will be held today. Officials expect the expansion to boost the local economy by $30 to $40 million annually by 2027. Bay News 9

- ➤ Bradenton Police Department said its drone pilot captured footage of a family of manatees and a playful dolphin in the Manatee River near Riverwalk last week—an unusual glimpse of Florida's marine life. - ➤ Today, the Manatee County Board of County Commissioners voted 6-1 to name the county’s new Veterans Connection Hub and Memorial Campus along Buckeye Road east of Artisan Lakes Parkway to honor veterans past, present and future.
