  • Bay Haven students walked to school to honor a local act of courage—this event brought together school members in a shared tribute to bravery. The walk celebrated a valued moment of community spirit and remembrance.  ABC7
  • The Bradenton Marauders organized a clean-up sweep of 27th Street near Pirate City and 17th Avenue by the ballpark—spending nearly 90 minutes picking up trash along the adopted streets. The team will also hold a toy drive on December 13 at 100 10th Street with its mascot Marty the Marauder attending later in the morning to support the community.  The Bradenton Times

  • Downtown Bradenton businesses have seen slow sales after a government shutdown and hope the Holiday Shop Crawl event—running until Dec. 15—will bring more customers and boost sales.  Bay News 9

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • Manatee County resident Allyn Hane, who runs Yard Mastery and the YouTube channel The Lawn Care Nut, is teaching Bradenton residents a simple water test to care for lawns during drought conditions—he places a tuna can in the sprinkler stream to check for half an inch of water while county officials note that current Phase 1 restrictions may tighten if the drought worsens.  Bay News 9

  • High school sophomore Ayah Ramirez was named ABC7 Athlete of the Week and is emerging as a leader for the girls’ soccer team that started the season 3-1. Coach Carlos Aragon said her energy is uniting the team—helping seniors like Vidalina Bartolon step up in games to come.  ABC7
