ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • On Friday, an apartment building in Cedar Hammock caught fire and displaced at least 30 residents—firefighters extinguished the blaze in 30 minutes despite three units being severely damaged and 15 sustaining heavy water damage—rescue crews saved multiple pets while one person suffered minor injuries as authorities investigate the cause.  WFLA

CULTURE NEWS

  • Derek Lersch, a country artist from Sarasota, will perform at Joyland Live Music Night Club. He has played over 500 shows (opening for artists like Rodney Atkins) and continues touring nationally across many states.  The Bradenton Times
  • Oscura will host Nirvanna — a tribute to Nirvana featuring The Linkin Park Tribute Band and The Tribute To Creed with doors opening at 7 p.m. and music starting at 8 p.m., and advanced tickets cost $15 while day-of-show tickets cost $20.  The Bradenton Times
  • Joe Crookston, a noted folk musician, will perform live at Fogartyville on Friday, Dec. 5 at 8 p.m.—doors open at 7 p.m. Tickets cost $20 for members, $25 for non-members, and $12 for students.  The Bradenton Times
  • Burgundee, a band that mixes RnB, Jazz, and Neo-Soul, will perform live at Fogartyville on Saturday, December 6th at 8 p.m.—doors open at 7 p.m and tickets cost $20 for members, $25 for others, and $12 for students.  The Bradenton Times
  • Justin Black, a singer-songwriter from Kentucky now based in Sarasota, performed his soulful blend of country, blues, and bluegrass — a crowd favorite — at Flamingo Bay Brewing Co. on Saturday, November 29. The family-friendly venue offered craft beer and a spacious taproom for a laid-back evening with no cover charge.  The Bradenton Times
  • Al Fuller, a well-known musician, leads his Moonlight Movers in playing rock, blues, R&B and country covers at Jiggs Landing Outpost with a $5 cover charge. The venue offers a light menu—soft beverages, snacks and Yoder's ice cream—and hosts live music every Thursday through Sunday three hours before sunset.  The Bradenton Times
  • Blues musician RJ Howson performed at the Lakewood Ranch Blues Fest Kickoff—he is known for his Chicago blues roots—and shared the stage with local and national acts. The free concert—guests should bring chairs and keep dogs on short leashes—is set to benefit a local non-profit.  The Bradenton Times
  • Blues artist Tas Cru, known for his eclectic mix of roots music, will perform at Cottonmouth in Bradenton with a cover donation entry and a lineup that ranges from a six-piece band to solo acoustic work plus the venue offers Southern soul cuisine and local art.
