- ➤ Oyster River Ecology is restoring the Manatee River by assembling oyster rag pots that filter water and revive oyster habitats with volunteer help Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday at their Palmetto warehouse, aiming to cover 10 acres now and 100 acres in the future while honoring local fishing traditions. - ➤ Manatee County invites residents to apply for three seats on its Environmental Lands Management and Acquisition Committee (ELMAC) to help protect natural resources.
